You'll want to know who I am, right?

Rachael McCooey

Sports Massage Therapist, Founder

I'm Rachael, a keen amateur sports person, lover of exercise, dog owner, amateur musician and keen sports massage therapist.

I have a passion for helping sports people meet the demands of their sports, optimise their performance, reduce their risk of injury and manage existing injuries.  I also believe that everyone should thrive, not just survive, and therefore also enjoy helping people who enjoy sport at a lower level.

Aside from sports people, I am able to help people who suffer from problems such as sore muscles or joints from repetitive movements. This can include high-end or professional musicians who can not only suffer from pain, but may also require attention around the core muscles to help with breathing. I have a good knowledge of the Alexander Technique, having been using the technique for around ten years. I can work in conjunction with a local Alexander Technique Practitioner to help optimise musical performance.

Following a period of post graduate study with Chris Phillips and his super team at the Cotswold Academy, I offer sports massage, laser therapy, hot stone massage, and taping techniques to all types of people. From those who just enjoy a gentle daily walk, to those that are really keen to take their sport to the highest level.

I have developed an interest in using medical lasers over the last few years, and now do some teaching and technical work in that field, helping other therapists to understand laser technology/physics, and explaining how to use lasers in practice.

I have  long history working in a medical environment. Back in the beginning, I worked as a senior Veterinary Nurse in a large hospital. Working with all those dogs needing rehab prompted me to complete post graduate qualifications in both anaesthesia and in Veterinary Physiotherapy...which led to lots of clients asking me if I could help them too!

My aim is to provide a professional, non-judgemental service, helping people to thrive, not just survive.
